More Flexibility in Widget Sizes

I don't mine the rigidness of the 1x, 2x, 4x grid system, but I would really like more flexibility in choosing the dimensions of certain widgets. In particular, the RSS and Image widgets would be great things to have be 2x6, 3x6 or even one widget being the entire screen. Even the Google Calendar showing one or two events at a time in a 1x2 would be useful.
I understand that certain widgets can't work in some formats, but I'm finding it hard when using a 8 wide dashboard for TV display to either fill it or to accomplish some things, such as 1/2 the screen being a rotating picture.

Thanks for these suggestions. At the moment we are actively looking into the ability to change the size of widgets as we agree it would be a great addition for a number of users. Thanks for all the detail, it's great to know what are the most important factors for users.
Some of the highchart widgets I am using, require more space to list out all individuals listed in my line chart. 5x5 or 6x6 would be appreciated in the widget sizes!
Same as Doug here... I just created my first highchart with real data (pie) and even sizing it down it's just way too small in a 4x4 spot. Even if you just expanded the chart sizing options on the highchart widget that would be a huge improvement. Please consider!
