Support for custom segment filters in GA, such that you can pull from a list of these pre-created advanced segments from within Geckoboard.

I second that!
BTW I found a way. Just use filters and you have the flexibility of segments.
Ex. I wish to exclude the Eastern European segments from my graphs as well as the Asian market:
In the Google Analytics widget setting I add the following filter:
ga:continent!=Asia;ga:subContinent!=Eastern%20Europe;
Works like a charm...
