Although it might be a bit confusing first time around, setting up a Mixpanel funnel widget is actually pretty straightforward.  Follow these steps, but if you have any problems just open a ticket and we'll get you up and running in no time.

  1. From your dashboard click Add widget >> Web Analytics >> Mixpanel
  2. If you've already set up a connection to Mixpanel you can skip this step.  Otherwise click + Add a new accountwith the following values:
    • Project name: An easy to remember name for this Mixpanel account
    • Project API key: This can be found on your Mixpanel account page under API information
    • Project API secret: This can be found on your Mixpanel account page under API information
  3. Click on the Mixpanel connection you want to use then Connect
  4. In the Metrics drop-down choose Funnels
  5. Choose a widget size.  2x1 widgets have enough space for up to 3 funnel steps. 2x2 widgets have enough space for up to 8 steps.
  6. Select the name of the Mixpanel funnel you want to be able to view.
  7. You're now going to associate a funnel step with a particular event.  Funnel step 1 is already selected.
  8. In the Event drop-down, choose the event you want to associate with this step

  9. Select the next funnel step and choose the event you want associated with that
  10. Repeat step 9 for every event you want the Geckoboard funnels widget to display
  11. Show event conversion as: “Absolute” shows the overall conversion rate for each step funnel. “Relative” shows the conversion rate from the previous step.
  12. Select the period, give the widget and name then hit Add to dashboard.
