With Status indicators and notifications enabled, you can receive an alert when a threshold criteria on numerical KPIs is met. Setting up notifications ensures that your team is aware of important changes to your key metrics, wherever they are.
When the threshold for your Status indicators is met, a notification will be sent to the Microsoft Teams or Slack channel you've configured.
Get connected to Microsoft Teams
To receive notifications in Microsoft Teams, follow these steps:
If you haven't already, set up a Status indicator for your Number or Gauge widget.
In the Get notified section, select Microsoft Teams.
In the Teams window that opens, click the Add (or Open) button.
If you are unable to click this button, you'll need to have an admin do this for you.
Select the Channel you want to post Snapshots to, then click Go.
Click the Connect button in the channel you previously selected.
In the new window that opens, click Connect again.
Return to your Geckoboard tab and open the Post to field, select a team, then select the Channel you want to post to.
Click Close when done.
Get connected to Slack
To receive notifications in Slack, follow these steps:
If you haven't already, set up a Status indicator for your Number or Gauge widget.
In the Get Notified section, select Slack.
In the window that opens, select the account you want to connect.
Once connected, open the Post to field, select the channel.
Click Close when done.
How to configure notifications
If you're already connected to Slack or Microsoft Teams, here's how to add a notification within your Status indicator setup:
Select + Add Slack notification or + Add Microsoft Teams notification.
In the Post to field, select the channel you'd like to be notified in.
Then click Close.
