Before you start
The quickest way to integrate your MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Amazon Redshift database with Geckoboard is with our secure Databases data source.
The solutions and methods in this article are meant for customers who:
- Don't have access to Databases on their pricing plan.
- Would prefer to handle the database connection themselves.
- Need to connect to a database we don't currently support in our Databases data source. Currently, Databases supports MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Amazon Redshift databases.
SQL-Datasets is a command line app developed by Geckoboard to easily connect your database data to Geckoboard via the Datasets API.
To connect use our Datasets API, you must be on a Pro plan.
The SQL-Dataset functionality ensures your database credentials are maintained exclusively on your system.
Data sent to Geckoboard this way can then be visualized on a dashboard through Datasets. The SQL-Dataset utility can run on Windows, Mac, or Linux and supports the following Database types:
- Microsoft SQL Server
With Supermetrics you can easily schedule automatic synchronizations between your database(s) and Google Sheets. Once in Google Sheets, you can visualize this data on Geckoboard through Spreadsheets.

With Parabola you can import data from a variety of data sources. Once your data is in Parabola you can push it to many other services, including Geckoboard.
