The number formatting options available for widgets is determined by the language settings of your own browser or machine. Check that the browser's locale is set to the correct country.

You can use the Internationalization Checker to discover the language(s) currently being requested by your browser.

Browsers will generally allow you to specify a list of languages, so that if your first choice is not available you can say what alternative languages to try, and in what order.

International Numeric Conventions

Great Britain and the United States are two of the few places in the world that use a period to indicate the decimal place. Many other countries use a comma instead.

Likewise, while the U.K. and U.S. use a comma to separate groups of thousands, many other countries use a period instead, and some countries separate thousands groups with a thin space.
