The Geckoboard Metrics MCP lets you ask questions about your business data in Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI tools. Compare performance, investigate a change, or prepare a report using the same metrics engine that powers Geckoboard dashboards.
What you can do
Check performance: “How many support tickets did we receive last week?”
Compare periods: “How did sales this month compare with last month?”
Explore a change: “Which channels account for the increase in ticket volume?”
Prepare a report: “Give me a weekly summary of our support performance.”
The questions you can answer depend on your connected sources and the metrics they provide. If you’re unsure where to start, ask: “What can I explore with my Geckoboard data?”
Before you connect
You’ll need:
A Geckoboard user account with admin or owner permissions.
An MCP-enabled data source connected to your Geckoboard account.
An AI tool that supports connecting to MCP servers.
The Metrics MCP is included with every Geckoboard plan, and is available during trial.
Connect your AI tool
Claude: add Geckoboard from the connector directory.
ChatGPT: add Geckoboard as a custom MCP server.
Other AI tools: use the server URL and OAuth sign-in.
Once connected, you can also add an optional Geckoboard skill for repeatable reports and investigations.
How it works
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI tool request information from another service. Your assistant finds the relevant metrics, requests results from Geckoboard, and uses them to answer your question.
You can query sources such as Zendesk, HubSpot, Aircall, Intercom, Shopify, and Pipedrive, including multiple accounts from the same service. See the MCP-enabled integrations directory for the current list.
The Metrics MCP is read-only. It can retrieve metrics and, where available, individual records, but it can’t change your source data, dashboards, or account settings.
