Display Stripe MRR and other revenue metrics in Geckoboard

Our recommended solution is to connect Stripe to ProfitWell, ChartMogul, or Baremetrics and then use our data sources for these services.

Recurring revenue metrics are incredibly complex to calculate. Fortunately, a family of products, including Baremetrics, ChartMogul, and ProfitWell, specialize in easy access to these metrics.

Within these applications, you connect your Stripe account; then, you can use our pre-built data source to display sales-related metrics such as MRR, ARR, ARPA, Churn, and many more.

ProfitWell

If you want to visualize MRR or other subscription metrics from Stripe, you can bring that data into Geckoboard using ProfitWell Metrics.

Paddle offers ProfitWell Metrics on a free plan that can connect to your Stripe account; then, you can use our pre-built ProfitWell integration to display that data in Geckoboard.

Step 1: Connecting Stripe to your ProfitWell Metrics account

  1. In ProfitWell, select Stripe as the source of data.

  2. Follow the steps to connect to your Stripe account and allow ProfitWell read access. You must be an admin on your Stripe account to do this.

  3. Wait for your Stripe data to import into ProfitWell. This process usually takes a couple of hours.

Step 2: Connecting your Stripe data to Geckoboard using ProfitWell

  1. Switch to Geckoboard and add a new ProfitWell widget.

  2. Click Create dataset under daily revenue and customer metrics.

  3. Enter your ProfitWell API token in the connection panel. You can find it by clicking ProfitWell API under the Core Data heading on your ProfitWell account's Integrations page.

  4. In the connection panel, click Connect via ProfitWell. This creates a connection and authenticates your ProfitWell account.

  5. After you return to the connection panel, click Create widget to start creating your ProfitWell widget.

ChartMogul

Within ChartMogul, you can connect to your Stripe account and use our pre-built integration to display your Stripe data in Geckoboard. ChartMogul offers a free plan for accounts with less than $10k MRR.

Step 1: Connecting Stripe to your ChartMogul account

  1. In ChartMogul, navigate to Data Platform > Sources.

  2. Click Add a source.

  3. From the list of data sources, select Stripe.

  4. Enter a name for the data source and click Next.

  5. Select whether ChartMogul should import billing data from Production or Test Data using the Environment drop-down.

  6. Select Include deleted customers in Stripe to import them to ChartMogul.

  7. Click Connect with Stripe.

  8. Select the account you want to connect to ChartMogul and click Connect. You must be an admin on your Stripe account to do this.

  9. Click Import Data to connect Stripe to ChartMogul and import your data.

  10. Wait for your Stripe data to import into ChartMogul. This process can take a few minutes to several hours, depending on how much data you have.

  11. Once the data is imported, ChartMogul will update automatically with any new activity from Stripe.

Step 2: Connecting your Stripe data to Geckoboard using ChartMogul

  1. After adding a new ChartMogul widget from your dashboard, enter your API Key. You'll find this on ChartMogul's API Admin page.

  2. Click Connect and authorize Geckoboard to access your account.

Baremetrics

Within Baremetrics you can connect to your Stripe account, and then you can use our pre-built Baremetrics integration to display your Stripe data in Geckoboard. Baremetrics offers a free trial if you want to see how it works.

Step 1: Connecting Stripe to your Baremetrics account

  1. In Baremetrics, click Connect with Stripe and link up your Stripe account. You must be an admin on your Stripe account to do this.

  2. Wait for your Stripe data to import into Baremetrics. This process can take a few minutes to several hours, depending on how much data you have.

  3. Once the data is imported, Baremetrics will calculate your metrics.

Step 2: Connecting your Stripe data to Geckoboard using Baremetrics

  1. Switch to Geckoboard and add a new Baremetrics widget.

  2. Click Create dataset under daily revenue and customer metrics.

  3. In the connection panel, click Connect via Baremetrics. This creates a connection and authenticates your Baremetrics account.

  4. Geckoboard will now import your Baremetrics data up to the last 60 days.
