How to schedule regular screenshots of your chosen URL to be displayed on your dashboard using Bannerbear's API or Zapier.

Updated over a week ago

Learn how to use our Bannerbear data source to take screenshots of web pages, using Bannerbear's API or Zapier. For this guide we'll use Zapier and Bannerbear to pull through a daily screenshot of the weather forecast for the UK.

  1. In Bannerbear, create a new template containing a single image layer.

  2. Switch to Zapier and create a new Zap with a Schedule trigger set to every day (or as often as you need).

  3. Add a Create screenshot in Bannerbear action.

  4. Under Set up action, add the website you want to screenshot and the dimensions of the image you want to generate. For this example I’m using the WeatherOnline's daily forecast image for the UK.

Under Set up action, add the website you want to screenshot and the dimensions of the image you want to generate.
  5. Add another action to Create image in Bannerbear.

  6. Under Set up action, select your basic template and map the screenshot url from the previous action to the image field in your template.

  7. Switch to Geckoboard and create a Bannerbear widget and select your template and choose to show the latest image.

  8. Click Add widget. You'll now see your Bannerbear widget on your dashboard.
