Use Send to screen to display your dashboards

Display your Geckoboard dashboards on any screen using Send to screen. Pair dashboards or Loops to a display and manage your wallboards remotely.

Updated yesterday

Send to screen lets you pair your dashboards or Loops to any display and manage what's shown remotely, so your office wallboards always stay current.

Send to screen set-up

If you’re using a Windows OS device, or Raspberry Pi, we recommend viewing the respective guide for the most relevant instructions.

Follow the steps below to set up and pair a screen for the first time. Please note that this guide assumes you already have a computer device connected to a screen and the internet.

  1. Start on the computer device connected to your screen, open your browser, and navigate to https://gbrd.tv. A page with a passcode will appear.

    1. If it doesn't, go directly to https://app.geckoboard.com/tv instead.

  2. Now, switch to another device, open your browser, and log in to your Geckoboard account.

  3. Navigate to the dashboard you want to display on your screen.

  4. Click Send to screen, and a new modal will appear.

  5. Enter the unique passcode displayed on your screen into the Step 3 field, then click Connect.

  6. Look at your screen, and you'll see that your dashboard is now paired.

Pairing additional screens

  1. Go to the dashboard you want to pair, then click Send to screen.

  2. Now, click + Add new screen.

  3. Follow the prompts (or the steps in the section above) to pair your display.

If you have a single computer device and want to pair more than one dashboard, you can set up a browser profile for each display on which you want to show a dashboard. The browser profile will keep the cookies used to pair your dashboard separate from the other profile data, allowing the Send to screen feature to work as expected.

Managing connected screens

To manage existing connected screens, click Send to screen at the top of your account.

In the modal that appears, you can manage the following options:

  • Adjust the screen title to give your screen an identifiable name so it’s clear what screen it is, such as the location, e.g., Watercooler or Conference room

  • Change the dashboard or loop that is being shown on your screen

  • Refresh screens remotely if visual changes, such as widget layout, have been made

  • Delete a screen

Troubleshooting screens

There's a passcode on the screen where the dashboard was previously displaying

In scenarios where the dashboard was previously paired with a display but is now showing a passcode, you will need to re-pair the dashboard to recreate the connection. This may happen if you have cleared the browser cache or if the cookies were inadvertently cleared during a browser update.

When setting up Send to screen, the page refreshes and shows a new code instead of displaying the dashboard

In this case, we suggest clearing the browser cache and cookies completely. Then set up Send to screen again.

Layout or visual changes are not showing up

If you've made changes to the layout of your widgets or other visual modifications, such as applying themes to your dashboard, these changes will be applied on the next overall dashboard refresh, which occurs every 12 hours. Follow the steps in this guide to refresh your dashboard remotely and apply the changes immediately.

The dashboard appears cut off or zoomed in

If your screen has an overscan feature, we recommend turning it off to ensure your dashboards are displayed correctly. If the feature is enabled, the dashboard image may be cut off at the edges or appear zoomed in. This guide provides more information and suggestions on locating your device's settings.
