Enable API access in Salesforce

API access must be enabled on your Salesforce account in order for you to be able to pull data from your reports and display them on Geckoboard. 

Your Salesforce administrator controls your profile and its permissions. Here are two ways in which your access can be enabled. Choose one and you'll be good to go.

Enable API access in Salesforce by profile

Note: Only the Salesforce administrator has access to these features.

    1. Click on Setup.Salesforce_Setup.png
    2. Go to Manage Users and click Profiles. Salesforce_Profiles_Enterprise_Edition.png 
    3. Click Edit on the specific profile you're updating.
    4. Scroll down to Administrative Permissions and check the API Enabled box.API_Enabled_Profiles.png
    5. Click Save.

Enable API Access in Salesforce by Permission Set

Note: Only the Salesforce administrator has access to these features.

  1. Click on Setup.Salesforce_Setup.png
  2. Go to Manage Users and click Permission Sets.Permission_Sets.png
  3. Select the Permission Set you're updating.Select_Permission_Set.png
  4. Go to System and click System Permissions.System_Permissions.png
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Check the API Enabled box.API_Enabled_Permission_Sets.png
  7. Click Save.
