Enable API access in Salesforce

You can enable API access on your Salesforce account either by user profile or permission set.

API access is required for Geckoboard to pull in data from your built reports. Your Salesforce administrator controls your profile and its permissions.

Enable API access using profiles

Enable API access in Salesforce by user profile.

  1. Click on Setup.Salesforce_Setup.png
  2. Go to Manage Users and click Profiles.Salesforce_Profiles_Enterprise_Edition.png
  3. Click Edit on the specific profile you're updating.
  4. Scroll down to Administrative Permissions and check the API Enabled box.API_Enabled_Profiles.png

Enable API access using permission sets

Enable API access in Salesforce by set system permissions.

  1. Click on Setup.Salesforce_Setup.png
  2. Go to Manage Users and click Permission Sets.Permission_Sets.png
  3. Select the Permission Set you're updating.Select_Permission_Set.png
  4. Go to System and click System Permissions.System_Permissions.png
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Check the API Enabled box.API_Enabled_Permission_Sets.png
