Send a Snapshot of your data from last month

Learn how to show last month's data in a Slack or Email Snapshot.

Updated this week

In this guide, we'll cover how to capture historical data from the last month for your email or Slack Snapshots. This may be helpful if you're trying to get a sense of last month's performance once the month has ended and want this sent to your team automatically via Snapshots.

To accomplish this, we'll need to duplicate the dashboard you want to see last month's data from. Then, we'll edit all the widgets to use the Last Month time period on the newly copied dashboard. Lastly, we'll configure the Snapshot to send every month on the first day of the month.

Once that's set up, you'll have a dashboard that looks back on the previous month and how your KPIs looked at that time. You'll also have a new Slack Snapshot on the 1st of each month to capture the end-of-month figures accurately.

Configure the new dashboard and Snapshot

  1. Duplicate the dashboard needed for historical records, using the More menu.

  2. On the copied dashboard, edit each widget to use a Last Month time period.

  3. Give the dashboard a new name to identify it as last month's data.

  4. Set up a new Slack or email Snapshot for the First day of the month.
