How to build a Pipedrive dashboard

Broadcast live Pipedrive KPIs and leaderboards to your sales team with a real-time dashboard to keep them motivated and in sync.

Updated over a month ago

In this guide, we'll show you how to build a Pipedrive dashboard to help you monitor sales performance, track team activities, and analyze conversion rates between pipeline stages. By leveraging customizable widgets and advanced features, you’ll be able to create a high-value dashboard that keeps your team informed and motivated. Watch the video walkthrough below for the full process.

Get connected

To begin, we'll start by connecting your Pipedrive account with these steps:

  1. Click the + Add widget in the top right corner of Geckoboard and select Pipedrive from the list of data sources.

  2. Click Start from scratch or select a pre-built widget from the list.

  3. Click Connect via Pipedrive and follow the prompts to establish the connection.

When you connect Pipedrive for the first time, we will import two years of historical data. Depending on the volume of data in your Pipedrive account, the import process may take some time to complete.

Customize your first widget

Follow the steps below to begin configuring your widget:

  1. Hover over the top right of your widget, click the ellipsis, then click Edit.

  2. For this widget, we will select the Conversion funnel for the display field and the Conversion funnel metric.

  3. Next, in the Pipeline field, select a specific pipeline to display data from or choose All to include data from all pipelines.

  4. For the Time field, select a time range for your data, such as This quarter.

  5. If needed, you can focus on specific data by adding a Filter, such as displaying only deals with a specific Custom field or assigned to a specific Owner.

  6. Finally, click Save to add the widget to your dashboard.

Expand your dashboard

Duplicate widgets to quickly build out the dashboard

Now that your first widget is set up, you can add more widgets quickly using the Duplicate feature:

  1. Find the widget you want to copy, hover over the top right of the widget, click the ellipsis, then click Duplicate.

  2. Change the Display setting to Deal feeds, then select Deals won.

  3. Adjust the pipeline if necessary.

  4. Click Save to add the widget to your dashboard.

Arrange the layout of your widgets

To change the layout of widgets on the dashboard, we can move and resize widgets or group them together to make the relationship between data clearer. Here's how:

  • Move widgets with drag-and-drop; a box will appear indicating where you can drop the widget.

  • Resize widgets by hovering, then clicking and dragging one of the sides to change the height or width.

  • Group widgets by dragging and dropping a widget onto another to create a group.

Explore advanced features

Now that you’re comfortable creating basic widgets let’s explore advanced options that allow you to dig deeper into your Pipedrive data, reveal trends, and set up goal tracking.

Compare metrics on the same visualization

The compare metric feature allows you to add multiple metrics to a single chart, showcasing relationships and highlighting trends. For example, you can compare Value of deals won versus Value of deals lost or Deals created versus Deals closed to monitor how each metric impacts your pipeline over time.

Compare against data from a previous period

Track performance changes by comparing your current metrics to a previous period within the same widget. This feature allows you to assess growth or decline, choosing from options like Previous quarter or Same quarter last year. Use this to gain insight into how metrics evolve and to set benchmarks.

Bucket your data with Split by

Use the Split by functionality to break data into meaningful segments within line and column charts. For example, if you have multiple sales teams or pipelines, you can group data by team or region to analyze each segment’s performance individually. This breakdown offers a clear view of contributions from different areas within your pipeline.

Set Goals and Status indicators

Set target goals to track progress and add status indicators for quick visual feedback. Customize your widgets to highlight metrics in green or red, depending on whether values meet your predefined targets. For example, set a quarterly sales target for the Value of deals won and monitor your progress in real-time.

Use Interactive and Source data views

For a detailed view, use the Interactive view to adjust time periods, filter data dynamically, and drill down into specifics. The Source data view offers access to raw data behind each widget, which can be exported as a .CSV file for further analysis in spreadsheet applications. These views help you make data-driven adjustments on the fly.
