Learn how to adjust presentation options and filter your Facebook data to create easy-to-understand visualizations.

This guide walks you through the various options available when customizing Facebook widgets.

Title

Add a title to your Facebook widget. Titles should be self-explanatory and unambiguous. At the same time, you should try and keep them as short as possible, using universally understood abbreviations where possible.

Facebook Page

Allows you to pick the Facebook Page you'd like to return data for. One Facebook account can have multiple Pages.

With Geckoboard you can connect to multiple Facebook accounts. Click Add account when creating your widget.

Interaction

When creating a Page Stats Number or Line Chart widget you can select different types of interactions.

Metric

The metric picker allows you to select any of the Facebook metrics Geckoboard supports for this widget.

Note: Follow count isn't provided as part of Facebook's API. You can only retrieve a count of New followers via their Insights API, but not an overall total.

Time Period

The time period picker allows you to select a timeframe for your data. For example, you could track your page views for the last 14 days as a number widget.

Show comparison to a previous period

When creating a Page Stats Number or Line Chart widget, you can switch on a comparison to a previous period. For example, you could track your page unlikes today compared with yesterday as a number widget.
