Our Facebook data source has been designed for Facebook Pages.
Important note
This integration cannot be used with personal Facebook profiles.
Facebook Pages allow individuals and organizations to connect with their fans on the world's most popular social network.
You can customize your Facebook Page by posting stories, hosting events, adding apps and more. People who like your Facebook Page and their friends can get updates in News Feed.
Create a new Facebook widget
To create a Facebook widget for your dashboard, follow these steps:
- Click , located in the top right of your dashboard.
- Search for Facebook using the Search sources field.
Alternatively, you can also scroll down the alphabetical list of integrations until you reach the Facebook integration. - Click on the Facebook integration.
Is this is your first Facebook widget?
You'll need to connect your Facebook account to Geckoboard. If not, you can skip to configuring your Facebook widget.
Creating a connection and authenticating with Facebook
When adding your first Facebook widget, you'll be asked to create a connection and authenticate your Facebook account with Geckoboard.
Facebook uses OAuth to authenticate meaning you will briefly be taken to Facebook to allow Geckoboard to access data associated with your Facebook Pages.
Follow the steps below to allow Geckoboard access to your Facebook Page and App Insights.
- After selecting the Facebook integration and a widget type in the previous steps, when prompted, log into your Facebook account.
- Select the Choose what you allow option.
- On the next page, ensure that Manage your Pages is toggled on.
- Check the box next to Pages.
- Then check the box next to the names of the Pages you want to use within Geckoboard.
- Next, make sure Access your Page and App insights is toggled on.
- Click OK, and your account will be connected!
