In this article, we'll show how to use our ChartMogul data source display information from your ChartMogul data on your Geckoboard dashboard.
Create a new ChartMogul widget
To create a ChartMogul widget, follow these steps:
- Hover your cursor over the empty dashboard square you would like to position your widget and click the + button.
Alternatively, click , located in the top right of your dashboard. - Search for ChartMogul using the Search sources field.
Alternatively, you can also scroll down the alphabetical list of integrations until you reach the ChartMogul integration. - Click on the ChartMogul integration.
- Choose a widget from the list.
Note
Is this is your first ChartMogul widget? You'll need to connect your ChartMogul account to Geckoboard.
If not, you can skip to configuring your ChartMogul widget.
When adding your first ChartMogul widget, you'll be asked to create a connection and authenticate your ChartMogul account so that we're able to collect your data and display it on the dashboard. You only need to create this connection once – we'll take care of the rest.
To connect your ChartMogul account with Geckoboard, follow these steps:
- Complete the fields in the connection panel, then click
Our ChartMogul integration uses oAuth to connect to ChartMogul, so if you're already logged into ChartMogul on your browser, you will jump straight to the widget configuration screen after a few seconds.
If you're not logged in to ChartMogul, a pop-up window will appear and allow you to log in for account authorization.
. - You're now ready to configure your first ChartMogul widget!
Creating multiple ChartMogul connections
You may need to create ChartMogul widgets using a different account to the one you used to create your first ChartMogul widget.
In these cases, you can follow the instructions below to connect a different account or select it for the widget you're creating:
- Make sure that you are logged in to the correct ChartMogul account elsewhere in the browser or logged out of ChartMogul completely.
- Hover your cursor over the empty dashboard square you would like to position your widget and click the + button.
Alternatively, click , located in the top right of your dashboard. - Search for ChartMogul using the Search sources field.
Alternatively, you can also scroll down the alphabetical list of integrations until you reach the ChartMogul integration. - Click on the ChartMogul integration.
- Choose a widget from the list.
- On widget configuration page, click .
- Complete the fields, then click
Configure your ChartMogul widget
The widget configuration screen enables you to select the metrics you want to show, as well as adding any filters to the data.
To configure your ChartMogul widget, follow these steps:
- After giving your widget Title, a use the dropdown menu to select the Metric you'd like to display.
- Select a Time period that you'd like to see data for.
- You may want to show a Secondary visualization to either compare your data to a previous period or set a progress goal.
Important note
Geckoboard handles comparison to previous time period differently from Chartmogul. This means you may notice discrepancies between the data displaying on your widget(s) and in ChartMogul. The differences are explained in this article.
- You may want to add an optional Fliter to show data for specific plans or countries.
- Click to see the widget on your dashboard.
- And you're done! You can use the Number formatting menu to add currency symbols, change the number of decimal places used or add additional information about the values being displayed.
