Overview

Geckoboard’s HubSpot integration allows you to keep on top of KPIs and other useful information from HubSpot in real-time, with a focus on deal, company and activity metrics.

This guide will show you how to build an effective HubSpot dashboard to help you monitor your sales pipeline(s), track activities, deals’ performance, sales goals, lead creation, and more.

Using Geckoboard’s advanced features, you can drill into your HubSpot metrics, highlight and set alerts if metrics are going well or not so well, and of course, share your HubSpot dashboards to keep your team informed and motivated.

How to build a HubSpot dashboard

Get connected

  • Log in or sign up to Geckoboard and select HubSpot from the list of data sources.

  • You’ll then be able to choose a pre-configured metric to add to your dashboard or select "Start from scratch."

  • Whichever you choose, you’ll be asked to connect HubSpot to Geckoboard so we can bring your data into Geckoboard. Click Connect via HubSpot.

  • You might need to log in to HubSpot if you’re not already signed in. You’ll see your HubSpot account(s). Pick the one you want to connect to first and click Choose Account. You can connect others later if needed.

  • To let you visualize your data, Geckoboard will import the past 90 days of data from your HubSpot account, ready for you to start working with. This typically takes a few seconds, but large HubSpot accounts might take a little longer.

Create your first widget

  • Once the import is completed, you’ll have several options to build your first visualization, which we call a widget.

The configuration is made up of the following options:

  1. Pick a metric

  2. Choose a pipeline

  3. Change visualization

  4. Adjust time period

  5. Add a comparison

  6. Filter your metric. A very important setting to add granularity and build the exact metric you need.

  7. Break your metric out by different dimensions [where available]

  8. Show a target value on your visualization

  9. Fine tune number formatting

When you’re happy with your visualization, click Add to dashboard.

  • Your widget will stay in sync with changes in your HubSpot account, updating every 10 minutes to ensure the data is always up to date. Some metrics will update even faster the instant a change is made in HubSpot CRM.

  • To adjust the size of your widget, simply use your mouse to resize from a corner.

  • To reposition it, click and drag it to where you’d like to place it.

  • If you want to disconnect Geckoboard from HubSpot at any time, click your initials at the top right of your Geckoboard account, open the Admin menu, and select Connections.

  • Click the three dots to the right of the connection you want to remove, and select Delete connection. By default this will remove the connection to HubSpot and any widgets you’ve created using the integration. If you’d rather just delete the connection, select the ‘Delete connection only’ tick box before clicking the red Delete connection button.

Expand your dashboard

Once you’ve added your first HubSpot widget to your dashboard, you can build out your dashboard in a number of ways. Carry on reading for some suggestions, or check out our HubSpot dashboard examples for some inspiration.
